Young and adult performers from the dance group Smooglyanka are excited to be a part of Russian Days!
Smooglyanka is the dance group of the Russian Orthodox Church in Auckland, formed with the blessing of Rev. Fr. Vladimir Boikov and is lead by a professional choreographer Alexandra Pavlyuk.
Last year they successfully performed at Russian culture days in Wellington, organised by the Russian Embassy and were invited to perform again this year.
Smooglanka is the name of a Russian song which became widely popular during the WWII.
Dancers from this group are often invited to the Victory Day celebrations and other events such as Russian Christmas concert. Smooglanka’s kids group is called Smooglanochka )
